A Tree Condition Report is a general assessment that provides a clear overview of the tree condition and management requirements, if necessary.
These reports are often required to address a health or structural concern of a tree, or as part of a development application for tree management or removal.
These reports generally include:
Tree species and origin
Tree health and structure
Useful life expectancy (ULE)
Tree risk rating, utilising TRAQ methodology
Legislative control
Risk mitigation measures (i.e., environmental amendments, pruning, or tree removal if required)

Looking to purchase a property and want to understand the existing trees on the property?
A pre-purchase assessment is a concise yet comprehensive outline of the tree/s on the property, providing the vital details to ensure you can make informed decisions on your purchase.
We understand that purchases happen quickly, and as such, Arborology can undertake a pre-purchase assessment and report within 24 hours* so that you’re aware of site constraints before you put in the final bid.
*Note: timeframes dependent on arborist availability and property access.

Planning to subdivide or develop an allotment and want to understand the tree/s onsite?
Arborology are well experienced in the preparation of Preliminary Tree Assessments (PTA) which are crucial for understanding site constraints and developing the proposed site plans to work with trees deemed worthy of retention. These reports are developed in accordance with Australian Standard 4970-2025 Protection of trees on development sites.
This report is generally utilised by the project planning team to generate best outcomes, balancing planning requirements with tree retention where possible.
-
Subsequent to a PTA and design review, an Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIA) is developed in accordance with AS4970-2025 Protection of trees on development sites to identify:
likely impacts on all trees
design modifications that have been considered as part of the Preliminary Tree Assessment (PTA) and design review stage
justification/s for trees requiring removal
methods that should be implemented to minimise or avoid impacts on trees that are to be retained.
This report includes Tree Protection Specifications (TPS) and mapped Tree Protection Plans (TPP) (utilising spatial mapping software) so that the construction team/s are aware of all tree protection requirements throughout works.
This report is usually required to accompany a Development Application (DA).
-
In accordance with AS4970-2025 Protection of trees on development sites, the success of tree protection depends on the collaboration of all parties involved in project planning, design and construction.
There are many stages throughout a development in which a Project Arborist will be required to ensure that trees are able to remain viable beyond works, and that the approved documentation is adhered to. This includes but is not limited to:
Site inductions with construction team/s
Certification of tree retention and removal in accordance with approved plans
Certification of tree management (i.e., pruning works)
Certification of installation and maintenance of tree protection measures
Supervision and monitoring of works within Notional Root Zones (NRZ) of trees to be retained)
Final certification works.
Arborology have experience in Project Arborist works throughout NSW/SA. We can help your development run smoothly, whilst protecting trees earmarked for retention.
-
Arborology have worked on a variety of data collection projects ranging in size, for clients ranging from residential homeowners to State Government agencies.
We understand the need for clean, dynamic and current data so that you can understand your tree population, triage risk and priortise management, protection and retention where required.
-
Arborology can attend onsite start-up meetings for projects.
Arborology is well versed in the requirements for site inductions prior to construction works commencing, and have lead several environmental and arboriculturally focussed inductions on large construction sites.
We can prepare induction content and attend site to inform your team of tree protection requirements* throughout works to ensure trees that are prioritised for retention remain viable beyond works.
*On Arborology recommended measures only.
